Since opening in 1999, New Roc City has operated safely and securely for families throughout the region who have come to enjoy movies, bowling, ice skating, shopping, restaurants and other attractions. For nearly eight years, an estimated 15 million people have visited this highly popular family entertainment destination without any incidents.

In addition to our private security officers on site, up to 10 off-duty uniformed police officers will be stationed on the New Roc City property during all hours of operation.   The Funhouse will now close at midnight on Friday and Saturday and 11 pm Sunday through Thursday. All entrances will be covered by the New Rochelle Police Department and New Roc City’s security staff. All minors entering the Funhouse, Ice Arena or Speedway will be required to make a minimum purchase of a $10 turbo card. Loitering on New Roc City property is strictly prohibited. Unless accompanied by a parent, no minor under age 18 will be permitted to enter the New Street Atrium after 6 pm on Friday, Saturday, Sunday or holidays.* *The age requirement does not apply to patrons of regal cinemas.

From day one, safety and security have been a top priority for New Roc City.  In fact, New Roc City was designed to include a New Rochelle Police Department substation.

However, in light of the extremely unfortunate incidents this past Sunday, we have launched an in-depth re-examination of our entire security operation, and policies and procedures. As a result of this study and consultations with our staff, tenants and patrons and the New Rochelle Police Department, we have developed an expanded set of policies and procedures to enhance the security and safety afforded to all of our patrons.

This plan is designed to address a variety of concerns and will afford an excellent overall security program that we are confident will continue the tradition of good, enjoyable family entertainment for the region.

In addition to these new procedures and rules, we will continue our long-standing security program at New Roc City. We employ a highly professional and well-trained staff with up to 20 private security officers on site during all hours of operation. Our staff is augmented by off-duty New Rochelle police officers who are hired to offer additional security. We also operate 200 closed circuit cameras that continuously monitor the mall area, corridors, elevators, parking garage and interior facilities. New Roc City has been, and will continue to be, a safe and secure entertainment center for you and your family.  

The City of New Rochelle is experiencing an unprecedented revival. Over a billion dollars is being invested in downtown today and much more is on the way. The downtown is actively upgrading with new store facades, new luxury rental and condominium housing, and great new restaurants.

New Roc City has been a catalyst in the city’s revival and will continue to provide a safe, clean and secure venue for family entertainment. We will work very closely with Mayor Bramson, the City Council, the Police Department and the citizens of New Rochelle to ensure the continued revitalization of this great city.
